The standard range of door sills provide a tried and tested way of reducing weather ingress through door ways. The double sealing door threshold has pile seals front and rear and deep reservoir for trapping water that may have run down the door and into the sill. Drain holes ensure that the water is expelled out of the front. The standard range of sills are a direct descendant of the original Macclesfield step which has been produced since the late 19th century.
~ Incredibly Hardwearing
~ Double Draught Seal
~ Easily Trimmed Down
~ Pre-Drilled Drainage Holes
Weatherbar standard S1 door sills can be fitted in minutes using the following method. You may need the following tools; junior hacksaw, tape measure, wood chisel and a screw driver.
1, Measure the door frame opening and cut the sill to the require length. Carefully remove the door.
2, Place the sill into the door frame (drain holes on the outside) and mark the door jamb on both sides of the frame where the sill sits against it. Remove the excess wood from the door jamb to let the sill into the sill as seen on the figure in the pictures.
3, Apply a mastic sealer to the saw tooth grooves on the bottom of the sill and to the door jamb where the sill will sit. Push into place.
4, Place the wedge shaped fixings pieces into each side of the sill and fix securely into the frame using the screws provided. Or screw directly through the sill and straight into the step below.
5, Wipe off any excess mastic and measure, cut and refit the door.
